| IEP Quickwriter.net printing process for MAC users in Ruidoso Schools |
|
|
Due to some software
conflicts between Macintosh and QuickWriter, the tech staff at Ruidoso
Schools has developed an effective printing process. If you are in the
Ruidoso School system and are using a Mac for your primary IEP
computer, the following instructions will allow you to save files on
your local system and print reports to a local printer.
Special thanks to Lori Malone and Mark Hamilton.
Note: Mac users in Ruidoso connect to another machine that is running
Windows to be able to run QuickWriter. That connection is made through
a program called Remote Desktop Connection (RDC). If you need to use
this program for IEP work and do not yet have it installed please let
the techs or Cathy Jones know.
1. Once you are in QuickWriter.net and have an Adobe
document created that you wish to print do
the following:
a. Click on the Save icon (picture of diskette) in Adobe
b. Save it to the desktop (click on the desktop picture to the left)
c. Name the file something you will remember and that is associated
with the student. (For
and IEP for Lori Malone the file name might be
IEPMalone or LoriIEP)
d. Minimize your browser (that is the (-) sign on the top right corner
(not the RDC session, just the web browser))
e. On the PC desktop where you should now see your new file,
open My computer
/ then double click your local Mac hard drive
/ then double click the folder where you wish to place your IEP
file
(resize it if it takes up the entire screen (to resize click on the
middle button on the top right, the one between minimize (-) and
close (x))
f. Drag and drop the document you just saved from the desktop to the
folder you just opened
g. Minimize the RDC session (press the yellow minus sign in the top left
corner)
2. On YOUR computer, open the folder that has the
document in it (There
may be an alias (shortcut) to it on your desktop, right next to
the
QuickWriter icon)
3. Print |
